Indian school certificate attestation for the UAE applies to academic documents issued by recognised school education boards and authorities in India. These certificates may be required for school admission, student transfer, higher education, immigration, family residence applications or submission to UAE government and education authorities.
India has both central and state school education systems, with certificates issued by boards such as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and individual State Education Boards.
GloboPrime Corporate Services provides attestation services for school certificates issued by CBSE, CISCE and Indian State Education Boards, including:
- Class 10 / Class X Certificates
- Class 12 / Class XII Certificates
- CBSE, ICSE, ISC and State Board Certificates
- SSC and HSC Certificates
- School Leaving Certificates and Transfer Certificates
For Indian school certificates required for use in the UAE, the applicable authentication in India is completed before MEA attestation, followed by the current UAE digital attestation process covering UAE Embassy and UAE MoFA attestation.
What is the Process of Indian Certificate Attestation for UAE?
Indian certificate attestation for the UAE is the mandatory legal process of verifying Indian educational, personal, or commercial documents through regional state authorities, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and the UAE Embassy. Depending on the document type, the process includes the required State authentication in India, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) attestation, followed by the unified UAE Embassy and UAE MOFA digital attestation. The UAE Embassy in New Delhi now directs India-issued documents through the UAE MoFA attestation service, including collection and return of original documents..
1. Document Authentication in India (State Level)
Before central government attestation, documents must be verified by the designated state-level department where the certificate was issued:
- Educational Certificates: Verified by the respective State Human Resource Development (HRD) department or Higher Education Department. Online processing is available for participating institutions via the central e-Sanad portal.
- Personal Documents: Verified by the State Home Department, General Administration Department (GAD), or authorized Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
- Commercial Documents: Verified directly by the recognized regional Chamber of Commerce.
2. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Attestation
Once state-level verification is finalized, the original document is submitted for central MEA attestation in India. The Consular Section of the Ministry of External Affairs authenticates the state-level signatures. Note: Because the UAE is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, a standard Indian MEA apostille is not valid; a normal MEA attestation stamp is required.
3. UAE Embassy and UAE MOFA Digital Attestation
Following MEA approval, Indian documents are processed through the unified UAE Embassy and UAE MOFA digital attestation service. The UAE Embassy in New Delhi and consulate offices require submission of the original physical document to initiate the electronic pipeline. This integrated digital workflow issues a verifiable QR code, replacing the legacy system of separate physical embassy sticker stamps and subsequent in-person MOFA counter processing inside the UAE.

Purpose of Indian Degree Attestation for UAE
Authenticating Indian educational credentials is a mandatory prerequisite for legal compliance under UAE regulations:
- MOHRE Employment Visas: Meeting strict corporate hiring and work permit criteria for the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
- Designation Alignment: Qualifying for specific professional managerial job titles on residency identity cards.
- Professional Licensing: Securing mandatory regulatory clearances for healthcare (DHA/MOH), engineering, or legal sectors.
- Academic Advancement: Achieving enrollment eligibility in UAE universities and higher education institutions.
- Corporate Setup: Executing government submissions to establish commercial entities or international branch offices.
Important Note: UAE Qualification Recognition is entirely separate from the degree certificate attestation process. If your specific job title or academic program requires equivalency certificate of your educational certificate, you must complete that process independently through the UAE Ministry of Education for high school and for degree certificate through MOHESR after your document attestation is finalized.
Indian Marriage Certificate Attestation for UAE Visa
Last updated: August 2026
Attestation of Indian marriage certificates for UAE visa and residency requires three sequential stages: state-level authentication, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) attestation, and UAE digital attestation. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Digital Attestation Service combines UAE Embassy and UAE MoFA attestation into a single application.
Step 1: State-Level Authentication
The marriage certificate must be authenticated by the designated authority of the Indian state or union territory where the marriage was registered. The Ministry of External Affairs requires state-level authentication before proceeding to MEA attestation.
| State / Union Territory | Designated Authority |
|---|---|
| Kerala | NORKA Roots |
| Delhi (NCT) | Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) |
| Andhra Pradesh & Telangana | General Administration Department (GAD) |
| Maharashtra | Mantralaya (State Home Department, Mumbai) |
| Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh | State Secretariat (NRI Affairs Department) |
| Tamil Nadu (including Chennai) | Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai |
| Other States | State Home Department (General Administration Branch) |
For marriage certificates registered in Tamil Nadu, state authentication is processed by the Home Department in Chennai prior to MEA submission.
Step 2: MEA Attestation
The e-Sanad portal provides online MEA attestation for integrated states. For non-integrated states, physical documents are submitted through MEA-authorized outsource service providers (BLS International, Superb Enterprises, IVS Global Services, Alhind Tours & Travels).
Step 3: UAE Digital Attestation: Embassy + MoFA
The UAE MoFA Digital Attestation Service processes Indian documents through a unified workflow with the following features:
- One service, two attestations: A single application covers both the UAE Embassy in New Delhi and the UAE MoFA.
- Fully digital workflow: Submit the application online and receive the completed digital attestation electronically.
- Processing time: Most requests are completed within 2 to 3 business days.
Application procedure:
- Log in to the UAE MoFA website using UAE Pass.
- Select “Attestation Service” from the Services tab.
- Choose the country of issuance, Republic of India.
- Complete the online application and proceed with payment.
- A MoFA-approved service provider contacts you to arrange pickup of the original physical document.
- Receive the digitally attested document certified through the UAE Embassy in New Delhi and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- The original physical document is returned by courier.
Document verification: Attested documents can be verified online at verify.mofa.gov.ae using the Attestation Reference Number and Issued Date to confirm the document’s validity.
Additional requirements as specified by UAE MoFA guidelines:
- The original physical document is required for the digital attestation process.
- Documents apostilled in a bundle are not accepted. Each document must be apostilled individually.
- Laminated documents cannot be attested.
- Documents in languages other than English or Arabic require translation.
