Mubadala Vendor Registration: How to Register as a Supplier

Mubadala vendor registration is the process through which companies become approved suppliers for Mubadala Investment Company and its subsidiaries, including Mubadala Energy. Registration is submitted through Mubadala Energy’s Supplier Connect portal (powered by GEP) and requires a valid trade licence, company registration documents, banking information, certifications, and acceptance of Mubadala’s Supplier Code of Conduct. Registered suppliers become eligible for procurement opportunities, tenders, and contracts across Mubadala’s global portfolio of investments spanning energy, healthcare, aerospace, technology, real estate, and renewables.

Mubadala Investment Company is a sovereign wealth fund owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi, UAE. It manages a global portfolio of investments across energy, technology, aerospace, healthcare, real estate, metals and mining, renewables, petroleum, petrochemicals, and infrastructure. Mubadala’s investment portfolio includes major holdings such as Al Maryah Island, Rosewood Hotel Abu Dhabi, Zayed Sports City, Aldar Properties, Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Du, Masdar City, UAE University, Mubadala Energy (formerly Mubadala Petroleum), and Tabreed.

Mubadala Vendor Registration Process: Step by Step

Step 1: Access the Supplier Connect Portal

Go to the Mubadala Energy Supplier Connect page at mubadalaenergy.com/supplier-connect and click “Register” for new suppliers. This takes you to the GEP Business Network registration page. Create your account with a username and password. Save these credentials: you will need them to log in, update your profile, and track your registration status.

Step 2: Accept the Supplier Code of Conduct

During registration, you must check the boxes to accept both the GEP Terms and Conditions and the Mubadala Energy Supplier Code of Conduct. If you do not accept Mubadala’s Supplier Code of Conduct, you will not be able to complete the registration. If your company has its own supplier code of conduct, you can attach it in the “Notes and Attachments” section after logging in to the supplier network. However, approval from Mubadala’s Compliance Team is required after their review before your registration can proceed.

Step 3: Email Verification and Profile Activation

After registration, you will receive an email confirmation for verification. Follow the link to verify your email address. A second message will confirm your Supplier Profile activation. Once activated, log in to the GEP portal at businessnetwork.gep.com using your credentials.

Step 4: Complete Your Basic Details

After logging in, fill in all requested basic details and upload supporting documents. Use the dropdown menus to select:

  • Subcategory(ies): Select the product or service categories your company deals with from the available list
  • Org Entity(ies): Select the Mubadala entities you intend to provide services to
  • Service Location(s): Select the countries where your company operates (e.g., UAE suppliers select UAE, Malaysia suppliers select Malaysia, Indonesia suppliers select Indonesia)

Save your profile after entering all information. You can return at any time to add or update information using the Edit Profile function.

Step 5: Add Identification and Business Information

Provide your company’s identification information using the Add key. Enter detailed information about your business, including a full description of the services or products you offer. Add all available contact person information for your company.

Step 6: Add Location Information

Complete your location details by selecting the Location Name, then updating Location Details with your full address information. Under Roles and Contacts, add the relevant information from the dropdown list. Under Org Entity Mapping, provide your site name, select the organisation entity location, set the Type to “Remit To Location” and Status to “Active.” Leave all other fields blank. Save the location when complete.

Step 7: Upload Certificates and Documents

In the Diversity and Certificate section, attach all valid documents using the Add function. The Registration Certificate in English is mandatory. VAT Certificate is required for UAE companies. ISO and HSE certificates are optional but recommended. Remember: if your registration certificate is not in English, it must be legally translated and attested before uploading. Registration will be rejected without a valid English-language registration certificate.

Step 8: Enter Banking Information

All banking fields marked with an asterisk are required: Country, Payment Method, Bank Name, Branch Name, Beneficiary Name, Currency, Bank Account Number, Confirm Bank Account Number, and Linked Locations. Select your bank and branch from the dropdown lists. If your bank or branch is not listed, email support@gep.com with a copy to Supplier.connect@mubadalaenergy.com to request it be added.

Step 9: Submit Your Profile

After providing all required information and documents, click Submit. The Mubadala Supplier Registration Team will review your profile and send you an email with a link to complete the On-Boarding Form.

Step 10: Complete the Supplier On-Boarding Questionnaire

You can access the on-boarding questionnaire either through the link in the email from Mubadala, or by logging in to businessnetwork.gep.com, going to My Tasks, then Related Content, and selecting “Supplier On-Boarding Questionnaire.” Complete the questionnaire and submit it with any requested supporting documents. The Mubadala Supplier Management Team will contact you if any additional information is needed.

ICV Certification for Mubadala Suppliers

Mubadala is a member of the National In-Country Value (ICV) programme, a procurement-led initiative by the UAE government to promote economic diversification and grow the local economy. Current and potential Mubadala suppliers must understand the ICV requirements to collaborate with Mubadala in line with national guidelines.

What is the ICV Programme?

The National In-Country Value Programme is a UAE government initiative that measures how much value a company contributes to the local economy through local spending, Emirati employment, local sourcing, and investment in the UAE. ICV certification is increasingly required for suppliers working with major UAE government-linked entities including Mubadala, ADNOC, and other Abu Dhabi government bodies.

ICV Certificate Requirements

  • IFRS-compliant audited financial statements issued by a Ministry of Economy licensed auditor
  • A completed supplier submission template submitted to an approved Certifying Body for verification

For newly established companies (less than 10 months old) that do not have audited financials, management accounts for a period of up to 9 months can be used for ICV calculations. Management accounts for a period longer than 9 months must be audited.

Consolidated audited financials can be accepted if the company does not have stand-alone financials. However, bifurcated management accounts must be provided, and ICV will be issued based on the bifurcated accounts of the specific entity.

A separate ICV Certificate is required for each legal entity. Branches in other emirates are excluded: only branches in the same emirate with identical activities and under the same ownership are eligible for one combined ICV certificate.

Key ICV Facts for Mubadala Suppliers

  • All companies in any industry can obtain ICV certification, whether they are SMEs or large enterprises, free zone or mainland, industrial or commercial
  • Each ICV Certificate is valid for 14 months from the date of issuance of the audited financial statements
  • There is no minimum ICV score required to obtain a certificate. The score is calculated based on audited financial statements
  • A supplier can participate in tenders without an ICV certificate, but having one strengthens your position during procurement evaluation
  • Existing tenders are not affected by the ICV programme launch: all terms and conditions remain the same until the existing contract expires

Abu Dhabi Government Procurement Gate (For Government Entity Suppliers)

Companies interested in doing business with Abu Dhabi Government entities (which includes Mubadala group companies operating under government procurement frameworks) should also register on the Abu Dhabi Government Procurement Gate (ADGPG). This is the centralised procurement platform running on ADERP, managed by the Department of Government Enablement Abu Dhabi.

Registration on the Procurement Gate is a one-time activity. Once registered, your supplier profile becomes visible to buyers from all Abu Dhabi government entities operating through the platform. The required documents for Procurement Gate registration include your Commercial or Trade Licence, Tax Registration Certificate (or a valid justification on company letterhead if tax registration is not applicable), an authorisation letter on company letterhead for the person handling the registration, and a Bank Account Confirmation Letter.

Abu Dhabi DED-licensed suppliers can raise a Self-Registration Request directly through the ADERP system. Non-Abu Dhabi DED-licensed suppliers must provide their information to the relevant Abu Dhabi government entity to initiate the registration. For guidance, contact the AD Contact Center at contact@tamm.abudhabi or call 800555.
